DIY Air Conditioner Cleaning Tips
Posted on May 26th, 2017
Air conditioning is an essential here in the valley. No one wants to be stuck without air conditioning on a hot summer day. That’s why it’s so important that we take the time to maintain and care for our HVAC systems early in the season. This will help prevent breakdowns and keep your air conditioning system running smoothly. Here are a few DIY tips to help you keep your A/C tuned up for the season.
DIY Air Conditioning Tips:
Change your air filters.
Over time, your air filters will become clogged with dirt, dust, and other particles. The start of the summer season, when your air conditioning system will be working twice as hard, is the perfect time to check your A/C filter and replace it with a new one.
Clean the coils in your condenser system.
Make sure that you first disconnect your power so that it doesn’t turn on while you are cleaning. Below, Jeremy Thompson will explain how to clean your air conditioning condenser coils for the new season.
Lube your condenser fan motor.
You want to make sure that you condenser fan motor is running properly and the bearings can spin freely.
