How to Conserve Water in Your Yard
Posted on July 13th, 2016
Did you know that over the half of the water that we use at home is used outdoors? That’s why it’s so important that we make sure that we are using water efficiently. Here are a few tips to help you conserve water at home.
Water Conservation Tips:
Check Your Outdoor Hose Bibs – Even a small leak can add up to significant water waste over time. Check your outdoor hose bibs and garden hoses for leaks to make sure that you are not wasting water and money.
Choose Native Plants – Plants that are native to the Phoenix area will require less maintenance, and less water. Consider adding these plants to your garden for a more water-conscious landscape design.
Add Plenty of Mulch – Mulch is a great way to reduce water loss on particularly hot days.
Water Early in the Day – ALWAYS water your yard during the early morning hours. This will give your plants time to absorb the water before it is evaporated by the hot, mid-day sun.
