How to Fix a Wobbly Toilet
Posted on April 27th, 2016
Have you ever sat on a toilet and felt it wobble from side to side? This rocking or wiggling is a common home plumbing problem. Fortunately, if your toilet isn’t leaking and the wobble is due to uneven flooring, there is a simple fix! Follow these DIY steps to fix your wobbly toilet at home.
How to Fix a Wobbly Toilet:
Figure out which way your toilet is rocking.
Head to your local home center or hardware store and ask for rubber shims.
Slide the shims underneath your toilet to make it more stable.
Adjust placement as needed.
Make sure that the bolts on the side of your toilet are tight.
Take a razor knife and cut the rubber shim flush with the toilet itself.
Apply caulking around the base and let dry for 24 hours.
