How to Get Rid of Hard Water Stains
Posted on February 7th, 2017
Do you have hard water at home? One telltale sign will let you know — white spots. These hard water stains, or limescale deposits, will appear on your drinking glasses, shower doors, sink faucets, showerhead, and toilet. Anywhere that your tap water sits and eventually evaporates. So how do you get rid of them? Here are a few tips and methods you’ll want to keep in mind.
How to Get Rid of Hard Water Stains:
Make a Vinegar Solution – Vinegar is a wonderful cheap, natural way to remove everyday water spots. Create a 50/50 water to vinegar mix, and spray it on the surfaces affected by the spots. This will help get rid of any light hard water stains. Buff dry with a clean cloth.
Wipe Water Down – Prevent hard water stains from occurring in the first place by wiping down surfaces while they are still wet. Wiping water away quickly will help prevent minerals from getting left behind.
Install a Water Softener – Whole house water softeners will adjust the water in your home so that you no longer have to deal with pesky water spots, dried out hair and hard to clean laundry.
