Outdoor Plumbing Tips for Spring and Summer
Posted on May 29th, 2015
We’re well into spring, and summer’s just around the corner! Enjoy the great outdoors without having to worry about your plumbing system. Adhere to the following outdoor plumbing tips for spring and summer:
1. Have your sewer line inspected
During the spring and summer months, new tree root growth can cause sewage backups. That’s because roots tend to grow toward sewer lines for nutrition. Plumbing Medic can inspect your sewer line, and we even specialize in trenchless sewer line replacements should you need it.
2. Check your sprinklers
Some homeowners have sprinklers embedded in their lawn. If you do, make sure you check and clean each sprinkler head carefully. Once it’s time to mow the lawn, proceed with caution! Damaging your sprinkler heads could lead to leaks and wasted water.
3. Take care of garden hoses
Avoid tugging a garden hose too hard while watering your plants. Overextending can wear the hose out, setting you up for a tear. Yanking hard enough could even pull the hose bib out of the side of your house! If you need a longer hose, head to your local garden center.
