Plumbing Tips for Pet Owners
Posted on August 26th, 2016
Do you have a furry friend in your home? We love our pets, but we also know that it’s important to take a few plumbing precautions to keep things running smoothly. Here are a few tips for pet owners to keep in mind.
Pet-Friendly Plumbing Tips:
Use a Drain Stopper – Just like hair, your pet’s fur can clog your drain. Always use a drain stopper during bath time!
Close the Toilet Lid – If you have a pet that loves to drink toilet bowl water when you’re not looking, remember to keep the lid closed! You don’t want your pet to ingest any of the harmful chemicals or cleaners that you use to keep your toilet clean.
Don’t Flush Litter – Be careful about what you flush down your drains! Cat litter can cause a serious toilet clog — even if it’s labelled as flushable. Remember to throw litter away, instead. Only waste and toilet paper should go down your toilet.
Hide Any Exposed Pipes – Pets love to chew and might mistake your drain pipes for a toy. Make sure that any exposed pipes are out of your pet’s reach.
