Spring Clean Your Plumbing & HVAC
Posted on March 20th, 2017
It’s the first day of spring! As we put the winter behind us, many homeowners are starting to put together a list of home improvement projects for the new season. Don’t forget to add these spring cleaning essentials to your checklist!
Spring Cleaning Checklist:
Change Your Air Filters – Your air filters become clogged with dirt and dust over the winter months. Clean or change your air filters for the new season so that your air conditioning system works efficiently on hot days.
Fix Plumbing Leaks – Did you know it’s Fix a Leak week? This week, we remind homeowners to fix those leaky faucets and dripping shower heads.
Check Your Water Heater Temperature – You water heater should be set to 120 degrees F to prevent the water in your home from being too hot, as well as reducing your energy bill.
Check Your Outdoor Hose Bibs – It’s time to check your outdoor hose bibs to make sure that everything is working properly.
Clean Your Bathroom Exhaust Fan – Take off the cover, wash it and clean the dirt off of the fan blades. This will help prevent allergens from being distributed throughout your home.
Change the Batteries in Your CO Detector – Carbon monoxide detectors are a great way to keep your family safe, but you need to make sure that you regularly replace the batteries! Don’t forget to add this to your spring cleaning checklist.
